Maja Žutić

Maja Žutić is a research and teaching assistant at the University Department of Psychology of the Catholic University of Croatia and a doctoral student at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. For her doctoral dissertation, she is investigating the biopsychosocial determinants of peripartum depression on a project funded by the Croatian Science Foundation. She is a co-author of several papers regarding peripartum mental health. Topics of her research interests are the interrelationship between the metabolic and mental health of pregnant women and mothers, peripartum depression, maternal stress, epigenetics and the biopsychosocial framework. She has experience with several COST Actions on peripartum depression, perinatal stress, birth trauma, and two domestic projects on peripartum mental health. She is also a volunteer and head of administrative affairs at the NGO Centre for Reproductive Mental Health. She received three scholarships from the United States for her doctoral studies and attended trainings on peripartum mental health at various international institutions and universities.
