Charlotte AM Cecil

Charlotte AM Cecil, PhD, is an Associate Professor in Biological Psychopathology at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and PI of the inDEPTH Lab based at the Erasmus Medical Centre, the Netherlands. Her work aims to better understand how mental health problems develop in childhood and adolescence, in order improve strategies for early risk detection and the prevention of chronic mental illnesses later in life. A key interest in her group is to identify how - at a biological level - genetic and environmental factors beginning in pregnancy come together to shape children's development, behavior, and mental health, with a particular focus on epigenetic mechanisms. In HappyMums, Charlotte leads WP4 on biological mediators and environmental moderators of offspring risk and resilience.
