Eduardo Cáceres

Eduardo Cáceres is a PhD student in the Laboratory of Neuroepigenetics at the Brain Research Institute (HiFo) of the University of Zurich and ETH Zürich. He became a member of the lab after completing his university studies in Salamanca and Madrid, beginning with a BSc in Physiotherapy at the University of Salamanca, followed by an MSc in Neuroscience at the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain. He also completed research internships at the Karolinska Institute (Sweden) and the University of Helsinki (Finland). In his current position, Eduardo investigates the long-lasting effects of early-life trauma and its impact on behavioral and epigenetic changes in mice and their offspring. As part of the HappyMums project, he focuses on testing the effects maternal stress on maternal and offspring development and behavior. The research conducted by Eduardo and the other teams of the consortium contributes valuable insights into the intricate dynamics between early-life experiences, maternal health, and the subsequent outcomes in generations to come.
