Francesco Benedetti

Francesco Benedetti is Associate Professor at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where he teaches Psychopathology and Psychiatry. He directs the research unit of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychobiology of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, where research activities focus on the interface between neuroscience and behavioral disorders, in the vast field of direct and inverse translational research in psychiatry. His main scientific contributions are in the field of brain imaging of psychopathology, psychiatric diseases, and their healing process; psychiatric genetics; chronobiology and chronotherapy techniques; the clinical psychobiology of development and life span (consequences of early adverse experiences, interactions between stress and dispositional factors); and neuroinflammation in psychiatric conditions.
