Dr. Katie Hazelgrove is a postdoctoral research associate in the Section of Perinatal Psychiatry in the Stress, Psychiatry and Immunology (SPI)-Lab, at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King's College London. She received her PhD from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience in 2018. Her thesis, entitled ‘The Neurobiology of Postpartum Psychosis: Maternal Stress and its Effect on the Infant’, examined the role of maternal psychobiological stress in maternal and infant outcomes in women at increased risk of postpartum psychosis.

Since completing her PhD, Katie has been involved in a longitudinal research study investigating the effects of antenatal depression on stress reactivity, behaviour and development in children aged 6-8 years and a Wellcome funded clinical trial examining the effectiveness of group singing for postpartum depression. Alongside the Happy Mums Project, Katie is also currently working on a follow-up to her PhD research, which aims to explore the potential longer-term impact of postpartum psychosis on maternal and child outcomes.
